Education that works Better.
Most people with mental health problems want to work but need support to overcome the barriers they face. Sometimes, perhaps due to a poor experience of school or challenges in adult life, a lack of skills or qualifications can be a significant barrier. Better Pathways education services support people with mental health problems to identify what training needs they have and what qualifications they need to obtain so that they can prepare themselves for work.
Better Pathways – Education is supported by both central and local government and by a number of charitable trusts.
Better Pathways is IAG and MATRIX accredited, which means our staff are highly skilled and well-qualified to deliver Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to our clients.
We work with more than 500 people each year. We take time to understand each person’s aspirations and employment goals so that we can support them towards the most appropriate education or training courses to develop their learning and skills.
These might be vocational qualifications or personal development courses within a Recovery College.
We understand that returning to education or learning a new subject can be a very daunting prospect. So we have peer mentors, who have personal experience of mental health issues, on hand to offer help and support all the way.
We have excellent working relationships with local colleges and are always on hand to support our clients throughout their education journey.
Our promise to our clients – we will support you every step of the way towards finding the education or training course that best matches your requirements.
Our promise to our funders – we will provide excellent value for money and we will aim to exceed contractual expectations.
